I have never really considered the affects that war has on young people and children. It is really sad to think that the Iraqi refugee children are not able to go to school because their parents do not have money to send them or they have to work. I guess people, including myself, only think of the people in the military, not their families. It seems that children are psychologically affected by war. Some people like the two girls at Shoemaker High School decide not to watch the news or anything about the war; they want to block it out. –Meagan Smith

I thought yesterday’s discussion was really fun. Caroline’s article made me think whether or not the sex offenders are not having their constitutional rights this Halloween. I’m still on the fence as to whether this treatment of sex offenders is constitutional or unconstitutional. Kaylin’s article was also interesting because I was unaware of what was happening in Turkey. America seems to be in a sticky situation because it is allies with Turkey but has a relationship with Iraq. It really seems a like a no win situation. –Meagan Smith
i totally agree with meagan. i thought that the discussions were great. i found the restrictions on pictures being taken very scary. i'm not sure what to say about caroline's artical. i thought it was sorta trivial (no offense caroline. i love you!). i can't say i would want my children to be out and about amongst sex offenders on halloween. although it is a scary thought to think of the offenders out amongst children, are children not vulnerable all the time? that is a really tough situation. i am really liking this phorum. it's pretty neat. i hope you guys had a great homecoming. later!
