In addition to bringing in your own articles to discuss, check out these items related to crowdsourcing. Read a wiki definition, and then read the original article on crowdsourcing by journalist Jeff Howe. Of course he has a blog, too. What are your thoughts about crowdsourcing? What would crowdsourcing education look like? Is it even possible?
Also, here's a link to a story about the Republican YouTube debate. How is this kind of technology transforming politics and campaigns?
Finally, let us know what you think about on-line learning from this story. How has on-line learning influenced your education thus far, and what kind of role do you anticipate it playing in your educational future?

I’m still not sure if I totally understand crowdsourcing. Crowdsourcing compared to outsourcing seems like a good way for companies to solve problems and produce products that are cheaper and more efficient. I guess crowdsourcing education would be something like our class blog but maybe more personal so that it is similar to a school like atmosphere. I think crowdsourcing education is possible; however, I think it will take a while for people to get used to the idea and used to the technology. The Republican You Tube debate allowed people to ask questions to the political candidates. There is now beginning to be more of a contact between the presidential candidates and the people voting for them. The online learning story was very interesting. I see how this online education is both beneficial and productive; however, I don’t see how this learning environment is still anywhere near the environment at a school. I haven’t had a lot of experience with online education; I guess my only experience would be with this blog. The blog is helpful and thought provoking, but only as an aid to the class. It seems though that online education is becoming more popular; therefore, I’m sure I will come in contact with more online education in my future. – Meagan Smith
